SMALL-GROUP PARENT MEET-UPS

workshops
The goal of this service is to affirm your child’s growing belief that literacy is wonderful, enjoyable, and meaningful. This is not a time of formal instruction, but rather a time of meeting your child where they are in their journey and encouraging a continued love for and interest in literacy. A Lit. Nanny will provide your child with one-on-one time, exposing them to and engaging them in developmentally appropriate literacy activities that are grounded in research-based practices. Below are examples of tasks your child may participate in:
COMMUNITY-BASED PARENT WORKSHOPS
When communities, schools and parents work together to nurture literacy in a child’s life we leave a positive impact. If you are a community leader, organization founder, school administrator, PTA or HSA member and would like us to provide parents with resources, information, and guidance on the best ways to encourage and support literacy at home with their children, let us present a parent workshop at your location. We have various literacy topics to choose from.
EDUCATOR WORKSHOP: EARLY LITERACY TOPICS
We provide workshops to assist educators in designing lessons and activities that target the five domains of literacy, all while keeping the ages and the cognitive development of the children in mind. This includes, but is not limited to, modeling how to conduct effective small-group and whole-group reading lessons.
*Workshops can be tailored to specific needs and grade levels.
