Our Families Reading Together, Families Growing Together program provides time for parents or caregivers to engage in practical, fun, and meaningful literacy activities WITH their children.
The Lit. Nanny’s goal is to model interactive literacy strategies parents can work into their daily family routines. Because part of our mission is to nurture literacy one home at a time, both parents and children will have the opportunity to implement these strategies. Together, we can instill a love for reading early on and show our children that reading is meaningful, enjoyable, and essential as they are growing.
MORE DETAILS:
➞ This is an eight-week parent and child program, however families can reenroll as many times as they would like.
➞ The program is tailored for parents or caregivers and the children they care for.
➞ Families meet with The Lit. Nanny and interact with other families once a week for 1 hour.
➞ Families can enroll in the 4-6 year old section or the 7-9 year old section. We can make adjustments and will offer recommendations to accommodate families with siblings of varying ages.
➞ The activities and experiences shared encourage oral language development, promote listening and reading comprehension, and develop print awareness and reading fluency.
➞ Expect interactive activities, story time, games, times of reflection with other families and much more!
